Contemporary artist Smokie Kittner works primarily in oil paint and pastel.  These traditional mediums are used by the artist to create conceptually / idea based artworks. The elements each work is composed of function as symbols. Together they are part of a dialogue. The scale of each work is determined by how best to serve the idea upon which it is based. The palate used is also in service of the idea.
